8x16mm CERAMIC BALL BEARING size 8x16x5mm or 688 size bearing. Made from our World Champion Ceramic Nitride Pro Series Bearing Material. Our 688 bearing is sealed on both sides with our special no contact grey seal to protect against the elements without friction producing seal contact with the bearing elements. Inside our 688 bearing is our unique HSR inner cage which is designed to withstand high RPM, high stress and heat without causing bearing fatigue. The HSR cage houses our diamond polished silicon nitride ceramic balls which have been proven race after race to be the fastest, lightest, smoothest and hardest balls in the industry. Lightly oiled, not greased, with our slippery and fully synthetic SIN oil to keep your bearing running fast and cool.

Price is for 1 bearing.

ACER Racing's 688 ceramic bearing is a high-quality and versatile component that finds extensive use in numerous industrial applications. It belongs to our family of miniature ball bearings and is highly regarded for its exceptional performance and durability.

The "688" designation refers to the bearing's specific size and dimensions. It has an inner diameter of 8 millimeters, an outer diameter of 16 millimeters, and a width of 5 millimeters. This compact size makes it suitable for applications where space is limited, such as small motors, microelectronics, and precision instruments.

One of the standout features of our 688 ceramic bearing is its construction material. It is crafted from advanced ceramic materials silicon nitride which has outstanding characteristics such as high hardness, low density, and excellent corrosion resistance. Consequently, the 688 ceramic bearing exhibits exceptional durability, prolonged lifespan, and reliable performance even under demanding conditions.

The ceramic construction of the 688 bearing offers numerous advantages. First and foremost, it provides the bearing with superior thermal stability, allowing it to withstand high temperatures without compromising its functionality. This makes it suitable for applications involving high-speed rotation or extreme temperature variations.

Furthermore, the 688 ceramic bearing excels in reducing friction and increasing stiffness, resulting in improved efficiency and precision in mechanical systems. The low friction characteristic contributes to reduced energy consumption and enhanced operational efficiency. Moreover, the high stiffness property ensures minimal deformation, thereby enhancing system accuracy and responsiveness.

Additionally, the ceramic material's excellent wear resistance and low maintenance requirements make the 688 bearing a reliable and cost-effective choice. Its exceptional resistance to wear and corrosion ensures prolonged operational lifespan and reduces the need for frequent maintenance and replacements.

ACER Racing's 688 ceramic bearing is a remarkable component with a compact size, advanced ceramic construction, and exceptional performance characteristics. Its versatility, durability, and ability to enhance overall system efficiency make it a favored choice in various industries, including microelectronics, robotics, and precision machinery.
